The Ozzy Osbourne albums released in the 1980s featured an incredibly rich array of guitar playing talent. In the space of just a few years Randy Rhoads, Jake E Lee and Zakk Wylde all graced albums which have since achieved legendary status among metalheads. Jake’s work on Bark At The Moon from 1983 features some amazing riffs and incendiary soloing – not least on the track “Rock’n’Roll Rebel”.

In this short video lesson, Elixir Strings artist Mickey Lyxx breaks down Jake’s main riff from the song. It’s not a complicated part but features some of his typical wide stretches, so make sure you’re warmed up before tackling this metal masterpiece!

Explaining why he’s a fan of Elixir Strings Mickey says, “I use Elixir Strings because they outlast any other string and they feel and play like no other!”
