The track evokes the tension and heroism of this pivotal battle, when Habsburg forces attempted to reclaim the city from Ottoman control amid intense fighting. My band brought a huge energy to the project, and I still get chills listening to Jill Gioia — not only does she have a spectacular voice, but she crafted a vocal melody that reminded me what it’s like to work with someone who actually knows how to craft a melody. As always, it wouldn’t be complete without Steve MacQueen. He’s a true phenom who elevates everything he’s a part of. And, of course, the final cherry on top was Joe Marselle’s mixing and mastering — he did an incredible job tying it all together.”
